Fort Napoléon (Terre-de-Haut): The Best Panoramic View in Les Saintes
Perched on Morne Mire, Fort Napoléon offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views in Les Saintes. This historic monument, rebuilt in 1867 under Napoleon III, overlooks the archipelago and its famous bay.
Today, the fort is a museum dedicated to the history, culture and natural heritage of Les Saintes. Explore its 17 exhibition rooms, discover stories of naval battles, local traditions and island life, then wander through the botanical garden filled with cacti, rare plants and iguanas.
The uphill walk from the port takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes, so bring water, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a reusable bottle. Once at the top, take your time to enjoy the breathtaking view and capture unforgettable memories.
Travel Essentials
It's a 30-minute uphill walk from the port to Fort Napoléon, mostly exposed. By the time you reach the viewpoint, you'll have earned a cold drink.
