At the top of Pointe des Châteaux stands a large cross that has become one of Grande-Terre’s most recognizable landmarks.


A commemorative origin

According to the Guadeloupe tourism reference, a first cross was erected in 1951 to mark the centenary of the Diocese of Guadeloupe. The current cross was installed in 2002.
